Community Research

KALACC's Community Research program strengthens the capacity of Kimberley Aboriginal people to lead research that reflects their own cultures, knowledge systems and priorities.

By building the skills of local Community Research Practitioners, the program supports culturally informed research that is meaningful, respectful and grounded in Kimberley ways of knowing.

Community Research Practitioners are trained to undertake research on behalf of government agencies, organisations and other partners in ways that are accessible, culturally appropriate and responsive to the diverse communities of the Kimberley.

The program also supports the development and use of research methods, indicators and language that better reflect the perspectives and experiences of Kimberley Aboriginal people, helping to ensure research outcomes are relevant, respectful and community-led.
