Cultural Healing Derby Hospital Trial

Funded by WA Country Health Service

The Cultural Healing Derby Trial Program has supported the delivery of Kimberley cultural healing practices within a mainstream health setting.

Based on Derby Hospital grounds, the trial has aimed to embed cultural practice within medical care while ensuring the service remains culturally led, culturally safe and grounded in Kimberley knowledge.

The Derby Hospital is currently offering an opportunity for patients and staff to access cultural healers during their hospital stay. This is a part of a 12-month trial with the Kimberley Aboriginal Law and Culture Centre, Emama Nguda and WA Country Health Service (WACHS).
